The group campground, celebrated for its location and natural beauty, is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Bishop Creek Area.

Bishop Park Group Campground, located between the turn-off for South Lake and Aspendell, is conveniently situated near the Inyo National Forest and the John Muir Wilderness. The campground’s prime location offers a gateway to numerous trailheads, glaciers, and lakes.

Visitors can engage in a variety of popular activities nearby, such as horseback riding, wildlife watching, hiking, and fishing in a well-stocked trout stream. Amenities such as stores, marinas, restaurants, and pack stations are conveniently located in the area. The campground’s location also offers easy access to trailheads in the John Muir Wilderness.

Reservations for Bishop Park Group Campground need to be made at least four days in advance, with only tent camping permitted. RV camping is not allowed in the parking area. This site can accommodate up to 25 people and has parking space for a maximum of 8 vehicles. The site is not designed to accommodate RVs or trailers.

Directions

From Highway 395 in Bishop, turn west on State Route 168 (West Line St). Continue on State Route 168 (West Line St) for 16.2 miles to reach the turn off for the campground on the left.
